Thanks for your comment. Actually the most recent numbers reflect that the vast majority of C-suite and executive level searches are NOT led by outside search consultants. The most recent numbers I have are that only about 35-40 percent of these engagements are handled by outside consultants.

Most companies handling executive level searches internally manage these differently than the management and lower level vacancies.

Is there a distinction between a senior level search and other positions? For senior level positions aren't you really writing the resume for the benefit of the executive search consultants?

These days it feels like most senior level (C level staff) searches are conducted by search firms and the consultant is the person who's eye you must catch with your resume.

Just wondering.
